This glossary provides quick explanations of important gfx terms you may come across while navigating the admin. It’s designed to help clarify language that might not be immediately familiar, so you can move through the admin with confidence and ease.

Term Definition
Art file Final digitized PNG file of a customers design.
Assets/Images An "image" file. Individual artwork, logo, photo, etc. File: Jpg or Png
Collection A folder where specific images exist and can be organized and assigned to a slot
Content Assets, images, text or backgrounds.
Customize Allow customers to create freeform designs or choose which pre-approved content appears in a slot that you assign.
Design A template that is either completed or in progress in the admin.
Duplicate Creates a copy of your selected product design. Once duplicated, you can use the scale tool to proportionally resize your design on the new product copy.
Fulfilment partner A third-party vendor that prints and ships orders.
Personalize Allow for customers to input text or upload their own image within a slot.
Printable area Specific location(s) on a product where art can be placed for printing.
Product A physical item that is printed and shipped by a fulfillment partner.
Publish/Published To make a product live and available for purchase on your Shopify storefront
Scale/Scaling (tool) A design tool that groups and centers slots on the template.
SKU A term used by fulfilment partners to identify the finished product. Consists of Manufacturer, garment type, color and size.
Slot Defined area where types of content can appear. This can be moveable or static.
Static Predefined and locked location that can't be changed.
Sticker/Freeform An optional asset that can be selected, moved, resized and placed freely within a defined area.
Sub-collection A collection within a collection used to organize assets in more detail.
Swap/Swappable (optional template setting) To make an image slot replaceable or interchangeable.
Template An interactive design consisting of slots that can be assigned to a printable area on a product.
Wizard The design template builder, where designs are created and customer-facing SKUs, and customization rules & conditions can be set.
